speaker
Stephan Odenwald

Prof. Dr.-Ing. Stephan Odenwald is teacher and researcher in the field of physical man-machine interaction and Sports Engineering. After his graduation in 1997 (Mechanical Engineering) he received his PhD degree in 2001 in the field of lightweight composite structures. 2004 he was appointed assistant professor and in 2011 full professor for Sports Equipment and Technology at Chemnitz University of Technology. His research interests are sensor-based characterization of man-machine-environment-interaction in field testing and mechanical simulations for testing sports equipment and medical devices. Future work will focus on the Prediction of Human Behavior by using Smart Objects and the beneficial use of Virtual Testing in the development-process of technologies which interact with human beings. To promote technology transfer he founded the Steinbeis Research-Center Human Centered Engineering in 2015 and the ENVISIBLE GmbH in 2021. The activities of these spin-offs are focusing on mechanical testing and the development of measuring systems and data acquisition.
